October 24th - Pink and Purple Roses

October 20 - 2009 - Pastel Pink Roses

This Pink Rose bush is one of my favorites. Year after year it produces these soft lacy roses that have always inspired me.. It's abundant blooms have the sweetest fragrance too. Today I used the inspiration to create this pastel piece... A collection of pink roses...

October 18 & 19 - Roses for Melissa

As I was away for the weekend I didn't get much time to paint or create new rose images... but, I did visit some of my photo archives for inspiration for some new pieces. Of course, my white roses have always been a love of mine... so this white rose spray will undoubtedly be painted again and again... Those clusters of blooms are just amazing... The second image is a close-up from another painting - the colorful garden paintings that suggest abundant rose gardens and sprays of colorful flowers are always a joy to paint... Again, the pink roses have always had a special place for me, and every one I paint is with Love for Melissa and other women who have been affected by Breast Cancer. Each new rose I paint is in honor of a woman, who has lived and battles Breast Cancer. In for them I continue to support and promote the need for Early Breast Cancer Detection, and encourage me to educate and spread need to help women, and those who are close to them get checked on a regular basis.

Here's a White Rose.... Need I say more?

I was excited to see this beauty in my garden this afternoon... and took about a dozen pictures until I got this one... just right. Yes, it will go into my notecard collection, and will be a model for future artwork.... Obviously to go toward the "Roses for Melissa" project...

October 12th - Rose Illustration

This is a simple whimsical pot of roses. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed coloring it. I used new "water markers" to experiment and really enjoyed the results.

Pink Roses - October 10, 2009

A Rose Every Day in October. I have challenged myself to produce new pieces of artwork that include roses... Today I put some acrylic paint onto small canvases. Here is a trio of pink roses on a 4" x 6" canvas board. I will add more pictures of these pieces as the paint dries. :) These small floral images are also available as note cards.

October 9th - Pink Roses - The Melissa Project

A Splash of Color for today's Rose... Pink Roses in Acrylic on Paper... bright bold colors to emulate the bright and bold spirit that so many women possess. To fight breast cancer, and to promote early education and early detection... I produce these pieces for each and every woman who is affected, and the family that supports her... and those that survive, and those that are to be remembered.
